Kelsea Hobbs

If the right side of the brain is used for logic, and the left side of the brain is used for creativity, Kelsea Hobbs is without a doubt a left side of the brain person. For as long as she can remember, Kelsea has expressed herself creatively. From performing in plays since the fifth grade to being a choir member for 7 years to drawing on every scrap of paper that she came across, Kelsea's passion for being able to create has only grown through the years. As a senior in high school Kelsea found a new medium to fall in love with. On Christmas morning she opened what would become her new favorite possession; a simple Canon Rebel with two kit lenses. From that point on she knew that photography was going to be a life-long infatuation.

Funny enough, she didn't expect photography to become anything more than her favorite hobby. That coming fall, Kelsea would find herself leaving her hometown of Elizabethtown, Kentucky to attend Western Kentucky University and major in History and Social Studies. It wasn't until the end of her freshman year sitting in an introduction to digital photography class and getting goosebumps from looking at the work of famous photojournalists and WKU photojournalism graduates that she knew this was what she wanted to do with the rest of her life.

From forcing her sister and her friends outside to take over-exposed pictures in fields to hunting down features on an hour deadline (during which she has never been so stressed and excited at the same time), Kelsea is continuously growing as a visual storyteller.

Kelsea is a proud graduate of the Western Kentucky University Photojournalism program.
